Where to Go on a Luxury Kenya Safari
Kenya is a country with an unusual amount of variety, and the areas you choose determine the entire journey. Most of our luxury itineraries include two to five of the areas below.
The Masai Mara is Kenya’s flagship region and the setting for the Great Migration, which sees over 1.5 million wildebeest pass through between July and October. It has some of the highest densities of lion, cheetah and leopard in Africa, and the private conservancies on its northern edge have fewer vehicles than the central reserve.
The story of private conservation in Kenya is centered in Laikipia, north of Mount Kenya. The Lewa, Borana and Solio reserves are part of the larger region, which includes the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, Ol Pejeta.
Amboseli is famous for its massive elephant herds, set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, and its open landscape which allows predators to be easily seen. The Special Five, including the reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra, are only found in Samburu in the arid north. Many tourists end their trip with a few nights on the coast at Diani Beach, which is a short flight from Nairobi.

How to get there from the US
Kenya Airways operates direct flights from New York (JFK) to Nairobi in approximately 14 hours, and from other cities with one-stop flights via European or Gulf hubs. Seats are limited and sell out quickly during the migration season, so make reservations six months in advance. Upon arrival, we take care of the welcome and all onward flights.
