Nairobi is a short non-stop flight from Dubai or Abu Dhabi, so a safari fits into a long weekend as easily as a full week. Every itinerary includes your own 4×4 and a professional driver-guide, or a fly-in route if you would rather skip the road.

Our guides grew up here and have years in the field. They read animal behaviour, so you are in place before the action starts.
A private 4×4 with a pop-up roof for your group only. You decide how long to stay at every sighting.
Park fees, accommodation, meals and transfers are in your quote. If something is extra, we tell you before you book.
We handle all the logistics between parks, so you aren’t managing anything on the ground.
“The trip completely exceeded our expectations, even despite it not being ‘peak season’ we were able to tick off Africa’s Big 5 on the very first game drive. This was in no small part down to our guide, Bonnie…”
“Stanley Gichuki crafted the journey of dreams… Samburu was our favorite in terms of landscape. We stood in awe in Samburu as reticulated giraffes swept across the horizon…”
“Our guide Samuel was fantastic – incredible wildlife knowledge and spotted animals from miles away. We saw the Big Five, including a pride of lions with cubs in the Maasai Mara.”
Living in the UAE gives you an advantage most safari travellers do not have: Nairobi is close enough for a short trip. Three days is enough for two nights in the Masai Mara, and five gives you Amboseli as well. If you can take a week, you can add a beach or the north.
The main choice on a short trip is road or air. The drive from Nairobi to the Mara takes 5 to 6 hours each way, while a flight gets you there much faster and leaves more of the day for game drives. Our head guides, Boniface Kamau and John Mithamo, each have more than 20 years in these parks, and every trip is private from start to finish.
That depends on your passport, not your residence visa. Emirati citizens need an electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA), and Kenya’s official eTA portal lists the rule for every nationality, so expatriates should check their own passport there. Most need an eTA, while several, including Singapore and many African countries, do not.
The standard eTA costs $30 and is generally processed within three business days. An expedited application costs $100 more and is processed immediately, which helps if you book a short trip late. Each traveller needs their own, with a passport valid for at least six months and one blank page. The form also asks for your itinerary and accommodation confirmation.
Emirates, flydubai and Kenya Airways fly non-stop from Dubai to Nairobi, and Etihad flies non-stop from Abu Dhabi. The flight takes about 5 to 6 hours. Kenya is one hour behind the UAE, so you need no time to adjust.
You land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where we meet you for your airport transfer. Check your arrival time before you choose a 3-day trip: most of our safaris start in Nairobi, so an evening flight means a night in the city first, and we can book that hotel for you.
For a long weekend, our 3-day flying safari is the simplest choice: you fly to the Mara, stay two nights, and fly back. The 4-day trip gives you a third night and the option of a dawn balloon flight for around $450 per person.
With five or six days, add Amboseli for its elephant herds and, on a clear morning, Kilimanjaro behind them. A full week lets you combine three nights in the Mara with three nights at Diani Beach.
The UAE summer overlaps with Kenya’s long dry season, which runs from June to October. The wildebeest migration is usually in the Mara from late July to October. The Mara sits on high ground, so mornings can feel cold, and you will want a warm layer on early drives. Book early for these months.
December and January suit the UAE winter break, though we suggest booking well ahead for the holidays. January and February are a short dry season with strong game viewing. Other months bring quieter parks and lower lodge rates after the rains.
