Karibu Kenya – Ready to Visit?
Karibu Kenya means “Welcome to Kenya” in Swahili, and that’s exactly what we want to say to you.
Majestic Kenya Safaris is a proudly Kenyan-owned and operated safari company, founded in 2015 with a passion for sharing the beauty of East Africa with visitors from around the world. We are fully licensed by the Tourism Regulatory Authority of Kenya – Licence No. TRA1/47/C01/78639 – giving you the confidence that every safari is planned and operated to the standards required by Kenya’s tourism authority. You can check out our most recent license here.
Our founder grew up in a village near Aberdare National Park. As a child, he spent his time watching wildlife and listening to local stories about the land and animals. That early fascination never left him.
After years working as a safari guide, he saw a gap in the market – there weren’t enough companies properly combining local knowledge with genuine responsible tourism. So he brought together a team of Kenyans who felt the same way: experienced guides, people who understood the logistics, and others passionate about conservation. That’s how we got started.
We began with five people in 2015. Now we’re a team of over 10, and we’ve taken hundreds of visitors on safari – from the Masai Mara plains to the slopes of Mount Kenya.
Our guides are the real heart of what we do. They’re not just there to spot animals – they know the stories behind the landscapes, they understand conservation, and they genuinely represent Kenya well. Many grew up in the areas where we operate, so they know the land intimately.
Our head guide has been doing this for over 20 years. His ability to spot wildlife is remarkable – he once found a leopard in a tree that three other guides had driven right past. But what makes him special is how he explains things. He doesn’t just tell you what you’re seeing; he explains the animal’s behaviour, what it means in the ecosystem, and how it connects to the landscape.
Our customer service manager handles everything from your first enquiry through to when you fly home. She’s meticulous – she thinks about details like making sure your lodge knows about dietary requirements or arranging something special for anniversaries. Her attention to detail and genuine warmth are why we get such good feedback.
Behind the scenes, our logistics team keeps the vehicles running properly, makes sure camps are set up right, and ensures transfers happen when they’re supposed to.
A good safari is about more than ticking animals off a list. It’s about genuinely connecting with the place, understanding something about the culture, and coming away with experiences you’ll remember. That’s what we’ve been designing for visitors to Kenya since 2015 – and it’s what every itinerary Majestic Kenya Safaris builds is shaped around.
Here’s what makes our approach different:
Built Around You: Every traveller’s different. We take time to understand what you’re interested in and how you like to travel before we plan your itinerary. Whether you’re after specific photography opportunities, travelling with children, or wanting something romantic, we’ll adjust things to suit. And if you’re not entirely sure what you want yet, that’s fine – we’ll talk through the options and help you figure it out.
Local Knowledge: Being Kenyan gives us access to experiences you won’t find on the standard tourist route. We can introduce you to local people, take you to viewpoints that aren’t crowded, and share insights into how things actually work here. Our guides grew up in these areas; they speak the local languages, they know the families, they understand the cultural context.
Conservation That Matters: We believe tourism, done right, genuinely helps conservation. We work with lodges and camps that take environmental responsibility seriously, and part of what you pay goes directly to local conservation projects. We also follow strict responsible wildlife viewing practices – keeping appropriate distances, never going off-road to get closer, and never interfering with animal behaviour.
Options for Different Budgets: We offer everything from luxury lodges to mobile camping safaris. We think everyone should be able to experience a Kenyan safari, regardless of budget.
Properly Looked After: From the moment you arrive in Kenya until you leave, we handle the details. Our job is making things run smoothly so you can focus on enjoying yourself.
We run safaris across Kenya’s best landscapes. Here are some of the trips we do:
Masai Mara Safaris: See the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River. Our guides know the best places to watch it happen and understand where the resident lion prides hunt and where leopards patrol.
Amboseli National Park: Elephants with Mount Kilimanjaro behind them. The park is famous for its big tuskers, and the combination of elephants and Africa’s highest mountain makes for stunning photographs. Our photography-focused safaris here are especially popular.
Samburu National Reserve: This semi-desert area is home to species you won’t see elsewhere – Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk. The landscape is rugged and beautiful, with the Ewaso Ng’iro River creating a ribbon of green through otherwise dry country.
Lake Nakuru National Park: Rhinos, flamingos when water levels are right, and the famous tree-climbing lions, all in a beautiful Rift Valley setting.
Mount Kenya Treks: For those who fancy a challenge, we guide treks up Africa’s second-highest mountain.
Cultural Visits: Spend time in Maasai villages, learn traditional skills, or get involved with community projects. These aren’t staged performances; they’re genuine exchanges that provide income to communities and insight for visitors.
We’re serious about making sure our safaris benefit wildlife and local communities. Here’s what that means in practice:
Environmental Care: We follow strict guidelines to reduce our impact – low-emission vehicles, reusable water bottles, and partnerships with eco-friendly lodges that use solar power and manage waste properly.
Wildlife Protection: We keep proper distances from animals and never interfere with their behaviour. We also support anti-poaching work through local conservation groups.
Community Benefit: Local people should gain from tourism. We hire locally, buy from local farmers, and support community-run conservation areas. We also run a scholarship programme for rural students.
Cultural Respect: Our cultural visits are planned with community elders to make sure they’re genuine and actually benefit the people involved, not just tourists.
Karibu Kenya – that’s “Welcome to Kenya” in Swahili, and it’s what you’ll hear the moment you arrive.
We know it’s probably a long flight to get here, but there’s something about Kenya that makes it worthwhile. Whether you’re picturing yourself watching lions at dusk, hiking through mountain forest, or learning from Maasai herders, we can arrange it.
What’s on our website gives you an idea of what we do. But every safari we run is different because every client’s different. Tell us what interests you – photography, birdwatching, simply being somewhere completely unlike Britain – and we’ll build your trip around that.
We’ve been doing this nearly a decade now, and we’ve learned that the best safaris aren’t the ones trying to squeeze everything in. They’re the ones where you actually have time to take things in, ask questions, and enjoy being somewhere remarkable.
If you’re considering Kenya, get in touch. We’ll have a proper conversation about what you’re after and work out an itinerary that makes sense for your interests, timeframe, and budget. You can browse our ready-made itineraries covering luxury, budget, family, and all-inclusive options – or ask us to build something from scratch for you, at no extra cost.
Thanks for considering us. We’d genuinely love to show you our country.

Karibu – welcome.
