About Stanley Gichuki

Stanley Gichuki
Founder, Majestic Kenya Safaris

Majestic Kenya Safaris was established by Stanley Gichuki in 2015 and continues to be operated from Nairobi. He has a Bachelor of Commerce, a Diploma in Hospitality Management and a certificate in tour guiding, which encompasses the three aspects of the business he deals with every day: the numbers, the guest experience and the bush itself.

He brought years of industry experience with him into the company he founded. Stanley has worked with several safari and travel companies, including Ardan Safaris and Atlas Support Services, and worked as a tour guide before he even ran his own operation. That grounding matters. He has been in the driver’s seat on a game drive, dealt with a booking that fell through two days before they arrived, and told a guest why the camp they read about online was not the right one for them. He knows what he is talking about when it comes to running a safari company.

The concept behind Majestic Kenya was a very simple one: travellers should deal directly with the people who run the safari. Not a booking platform based abroad, not a middleman who is adding margin to someone else’s itinerary. The company is fully licensed by the Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA1/47/C01/78639) and this can be checked on the TRA website prior to booking. Stanley is honest about the price of things and what they don’t cover, as most complaints in this business are due to the difference between what was sold and what was delivered.

He still arranges trips on his own. When clients write to Majestic Kenya about a honeymoon, a family holiday, or a first safari from the other side of the world, they often find themselves on a call with Stanley, discussing parks, seasons, camps, and budget until the outline of the trip makes sense. His guests have featured him in TripAdvisor and SafariBookings reviews, often in conjunction with the guides who drove them.

As a writer for Majestic Kenya blog, he tackles the issues he faces in the office: park fee changes, seasonal pricing, booking timelines that catch people out, and the difference between a good camp and a well-marketed one. You can view his recent posts here.
