Embark on an incredible mid-range safari that leads you to Kenya’s renowned wildlife sanctuary, Masai Mara. Starting from Nairobi, the journey takes you through the picturesque Great Rift Valley en route to Masai Mara.
In this wildlife-rich reserve, you will encounter the Big Five, wildebeests, majestic wild cats, and a host of other wildlife species.
Major Highlights:
Travel Time: About 5 – 6 Hours
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Your Kenyan safari commences as our driver-guide collects you from your hotel or airport in Nairobi, initiating the journey to the Masai Mara. The drive takes you through the picturesque Great Rift Valley, with a stopover at the viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the valley and Mt. Longonot. This is an excellent photo opportunity and a chance to stretch your legs.
Proceed to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at your comfortable tented camp. After a short rest, embark on an afternoon game drive, your first exploration of the rich Masai Mara ecosystem. Keep your eyes peeled for herds of zebra, wildebeest, and perhaps even some of the big cats.
As the sun sets, return to the camp for dinner and overnight, reflecting on your first day's adventures in the Mara.
Dinner and overnight stay at AA Lodge Masai Mara or equivalent.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Dedicate this day to exploring the vast wonders of the Mara. Begin with an early morning game drive, the optimal time for wildlife viewing as many species are active during the cooler hours. Witness elephants, cheetahs, lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, and other game animals in their natural habitat.
After the game drive, return to the camp for breakfast. The late morning and early afternoon offer time for relaxation or optional activities:
In the afternoon, embark on another game drive, exploring a different area of the reserve. If you're visiting during the migration season (typically July to October), you might witness the spectacular sight of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River.
Return to the camp for dinner and overnight, sharing stories of the day's sightings around the campfire (if available).
Travel Time: 5-6 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
On your final day in Masai Mara, enjoy an early morning game drive to spot wildlife not seen during previous drives and to take in the beauty of the Mara one last time. This is your last chance for any missed wildlife sightings and to capture some final photographs.
After the morning adventure, return to the camp for breakfast and prepare for the departure to Nairobi. Bid farewell to the captivating Mara, carrying cherished memories of your safari experience.
The return journey to Nairobi begins, offering last views of the Great Rift Valley. You'll stop for lunch en route. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, concluding your safari as you continue your onward journey.
Note: This itinerary is flexible and can be adjusted based on wildlife movements, weather conditions, and guest preferences. All game drives are conducted in shared safari vehicles unless a private vehicle is requested (extra cost).
