This fly-in adventure offers a perfect blend of comfort and wild excitement, featuring scenic flights, exhilarating game drives, optional hot air balloon safaris, and enriching cultural visits. You’ll stay in luxurious lodges – either Governors’ Camp or Mara Serena – where comfort meets wilderness in perfect harmony. All-inclusive gourmet meals ensure a culinary journey that complements your safari experience.
Accommodation:
Mara Serena Safari Lodge: Perched on a hill with panoramic views, featuring traditionally styled rooms with modern amenities.
Keekorok Lodge: One of the oldest lodges in the Mara, offering a classic safari experience with comfortable rooms and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.
Travel Time: 5-6 Hour Drive
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Your adventure begins with an early morning check-in at Nairobi's Wilson Airport. Board your scenic one-hour flight to the Masai Mara, marveling at Kenya's diverse landscapes from above. Upon landing, you'll be greeted by your expert guide and transferred to your chosen luxury lodge. After a warm welcome and briefing, settle into your accommodations and enjoy a sumptuous lunch.
In the late afternoon, set out on your first game drive. As the day cools, animals become more active, increasing your chances of exciting sightings. Keep your eyes peeled for lions lounging in the grass, herds of elephants moving majestically across the savanna, or perhaps a leopard hiding in an acacia tree. As the sun begins to set, enjoy sundowner drinks at a picturesque spot in the bush before returning to the lodge for a gourmet dinner under the stars.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner
Wake before dawn for an optional hot air balloon safari (additional cost). Float silently over the awakening savanna, watching as the landscape comes alive with the first rays of sunlight. After landing, enjoy a champagne breakfast in the bush.
If you opt out of the balloon safari, start your day with an early morning game drive when predators are most active. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation time. In the late morning, join a guided nature walk with a Masai warrior, learning about the smaller wonders of the ecosystem and traditional bush skills.
After lunch at the lodge, embark on an afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve. Visit the Mara River, famous for dramatic wildebeest crossings during the Great Migration. Your guide will share in-depth knowledge about the ecosystem and animal behaviors. As evening approaches, visit a local Masai village for cultural insights into their traditional way of life.
Return to the lodge for dinner, followed by an optional night game drive to spot nocturnal creatures like aardvarks, bush babies, and perhaps even a leopard on the hunt.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner
Rise early for a sunrise game drive, often the best time to catch predators in action. You might spot big cats returning from their nightly hunts or hyenas at a kill. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and some leisure time. Relax by the pool, on your private deck, or indulge in optional spa treatments.
In the afternoon, set out for another game drive, perhaps focusing on finding some of the more elusive species like cheetahs or black rhinos. Your guide will also point out some of the 500+ bird species that call the Mara home. Stop at a scenic spot for sundowner drinks and snacks as you watch the sun set over the plains.
Tonight, enjoy a special bush dinner under the African sky, surrounded by the sounds of the wild. After dinner, gather around the campfire to share stories with other guests and listen to tales of the Mara from the local Masai staff.
Travel Time: 5-6 Hour Drive
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
On your final morning, enjoy one last game drive at dawn, soaking in the beauty of the Mara in the soft morning light. This is often the best time for clear views across the savanna and to spot animals before they retreat from the day's heat.
Return to the lodge for a leisurely brunch. If time permits, you may opt for a visit to a local conservation project to learn about efforts to protect the Mara's ecosystems and wildlife. In the mid-afternoon, bid farewell to the Mara as you board your flight back to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you'll be transferred to your Nairobi hotel or to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey, carrying with you a lifetime of memories from your Masai Mara safari.
